DataCation Education

DataCation Education is a not-for-profit organization that is the cornerstone of what makes University Village a hub for opportunity in any community where it is located. The mission of DataCation Education is to provide a focused curriculum of the fundamentals, as well as the most advanced concepts in each field it provides. This will begin in pre-school with makerspace classes and the proper level of introductions deemed appropriate for that age group. As the students move through elementary school the curriculum will remain as broad as possible, so that students are introduced to the many opportunities that are available to them.

As the students enter middle school, it will begin to focus on the basics to allow students to move forward into the greater complexities of technology and biotechnology. High school will incorporate both the education aspect, including ethics and art and the human resources tools to enter the workforce. To provide graduates with the certifications and life skills required to make each student an asset, employees that companies need in their chosen fields. Students that graduate from DataCation Education will have achieved national certifications in the chosen fields, as well as the potential to have already secured a position with a firm, or internships leading to a job or acceptance into a college of their choice.

The DataCation Education facility will operate during regular school hours, following a BOCES model, where students will spend half of their day in their regular high school and half their day at the DataCation Education facility. This will allow for two sessions per day to offer more opportunity to students who want to pursue these fields. After school hours will provide classes for veterans, children in foster care, adults, and people with physical and mental disabilities.

The facility will be open throughout the evening for those students

who attend classes during the day to provide a place to obtain

additional tutoring, a place to relax, study or engage in physical

activity. It will also be a place to find quiet time and perhaps grab

something to eat. DataCation will provide the transportation for

students after regular busing hours are no longer operational.

DataCation Education will also be working with the federal government and private corporations to provide the process that leads to top secret clearance in order to both provide the required qualifications for DataCation Education’s graduates entering existing top secret programs and provide cost savings to the federal government and private corporations. This program will provide an additional benefit to assist graduates in securing employment prior to graduation.
